My brushes

This is a photo....not an oil painting.
I am in New Zealand at present for work related business. So I am having a little break from my easel. I will resume my one painting a week when I get back home on the 22nd of July. My next post will be on the 24th of July.

Kiss-Kiss

I went to my local grocery store and saw some cherries imported from the USA. They looked beautiful. Being winter here in Australia and at $39/kg!.... I only bought a few and decided to paint a couple. I played with the cherries. They did not want to keep standing up, but then I liked this composition......et voila! They were a lot of fun to paint and I loved using the colour red.

Peel me!

Peel me!.....Please!!!. I have had a busy week at work. Pressure was on.  Just a week to do an oil painting seems at times not enough, but this is teaching me not to waste time and focus on what has to be done. Perhaps this painting needed a little more time but this is it! I like the vegetable peeler and am happy with the flesh of the apple. This granny smith was peeled completely once the painting was done, and ....I ate it!!!

Out of the bag

Out of the bag! The second apple seems to be willing to follow the first one. This painting has been a real joy to paint. Indeed, the paper bag has been a challenge to paint, but overall I am pleased with the results. I particularly like the inside of the bag.

All piled up!

Here is my painting of the week. I am pleased with the composition and I have enjoyed painting this apple. The knife and mug were challenging to paint and I liked that.

In the bag

In the bag? yes, in the bag! I posted my latest oil painting a little late....by less than a minute. I did not know how to paint a plastic bag. Well, now I know....it is hard, but it has been such a rewarding experience. I like the reflection of the apple through the plastic bag.

Four apples

Four apples.... Could you come up with a better title? I could not! Anyway, today was very overcast and the final picture of this painting is not so good. I will try to redo the camera work to do justice to those beautiful apples. I'm contented and happy with the painting. I am already thinking about my next creation....will it be in the bag? (up dated camera work on 07/06/2011- CD)
